Carolyn Wright, DJ Glitterball, started DJing in Manchester, UK in 1994. She co-hosted live radio programmes on Signal Cheshire and Silk FM, as well as working in production at Key 103, on programmes featuring bands such as Oasis, Inspiral Carpets and Badly Drawn Boy. Carolyn also played in a wide variety of clubs and bars there, including the legendary Hacienda and regularly alongside her radio colleague Geoff Lloyd at Pet Sounds.
In 1999 Carolyn moved to London, taking up a job with the BBC, meeting Paul not long afterwards. This began the start of a long and fruitful DJ relationship during which she's regularly played at Strange Fruit, in venues such as the Garage, the Spitz and the Legion. She played alongside him at the short-lived We Love Records, then became a founder member of Crimes Against Pop, a monthly night at the Buffalo Bar, in 2003. Carolyn relished the prospect of playing at a night where the only stipulation was that the records would make you dance. She became well known as the DJ who danced as much as those on the floor. With Crimes she has played guest slots at Koko, ULU and 93 Feet East as well as securing Crimes a regular slot, playing for up to 5000 people, at Rob Da Bank's Bestival on the Isle of Wight.
Most recently in London she Carolyn a night very much along the lines of Crimes, Pop Thing, at the Garage in London, as well as making guest appearances with Paul in Hong Kong at the Rugby Sevens and on New Year's Eve. She moved to Hong Kong in Summer 2011 and has since played at a number of massive parties, including a fancy dress Halloween ball at Grappa's Cellar, where she continued with her reputation for getting the floor moving by enjoying the music she plays so much she can't help but dance.
